The Post I Didn't Want to Write

This post has been a long time coming, which is probably why it's taken me so long to do it...almost 4 months to be exact.

I started this blog with a purpose, to show all my friends and family the plans for our big day and to share ideas and get advice on all things wedding. What I gained in the process was close to 50 followers who didn't know me or have anything to do with our wedding. It is FABULOUS! It opened my eyes to a ton of other traditions, ways of thought, and ideas from planning my wedding, to cooking and home decorating! I love this little bloggy community which is why I feel I need to say this even more.

I'm pretty sure I suck at this whole blog thing. There I said it...first step is acceptance right?

My posts are more than sporatic, they lack any real feeling or originality, and I haven't made any real connections with my readers or those whose blogs I stalk. And I think I've figured out why. I've been writing each post for my readers and not FOR ME. I understand you have to have an audience and your readers have to want to read your posts, but that pressure has made blogging completely unattractive to me.

So, I'm going to do what I've been promising all along. I'm going to do my wedding recaps... and after that I'm not sure what's going to happen. I may drift out of this little bloggy land and ride off into the sunset to merely stalk and comment on those other blogs that I love so dearly. Or I could just start actually blogging for me. I haven't quite figured that out yet.
