Well I mentioned yesterday that we were moving into a smaller apartment so that we could save money for a house. And I tell you, the road to here has been nothing but turbulent. As everyone knows it's a buyer's market. The gov't is throwing money at you ($8000 to be exact...details here) to buy a home and we are bound and determined to take advantage of that. But not only is there an abundance of homes out there...there are also an abundance of workers with no jobs...and as most of you know M is one of those lucky folks who got laid off a few months ago. Luckily he has found a new position in which he started this week, but little did I know ANY lapse in employment does not look so hot when looking for a home loan.

How exciting!!! We want to buy a home so badly, but we haven't done the best with our money when we were paying for the wedding last year and the hubby hasn't got a full time job yet... oh well, i have to keep reminding myself that i am still young! cute though!
Congrats!
You can still put both your names on the deed even if you don't share the mortgage! (at least you can in Maryland)
My fiance has the mortgage in his name but both our names are on the deed, the main reason being god forbid something happens to him, he wants to make sure I have rights to the house.
Congrats!!! That is so exciting! The incentives are definitely good right now! My fiance and I purchased a home this time last year! Good luck!
We're definitely doing this!!!!Right now we're in Hermitage (apartment) and love it. We'll be signing a 6 month lease on a new apt until November. Around Sept-Oct we'll start looking for a place. There's a really cute neighborhood near us (by Beazer).
This is so exciting! I love the floorplan-- I hope all goes well getting adjusted to it even if your names aren't both on the mortgage :(
Congrats! :)
Buying a home is so exciting!!! We bought a new house in 2007 and Nat is right- even though he isn't on the mortgage, he can still go on the deed. I'm not on our mortgage because when we decided to buy I had only been working for Vandy for 3 months so I just got put on the deed. Great part is, when you go to buy your second house, he (like me) will be a first time home buyer so if the credit is still out there, you can get it again:)
beautiful!
Very nice new home...I left you a present on my blog for you!
Good luck! :) Yep...it's a GREAT time to buy!
